Adjunct Faculty- Online Nursing

Ottawa University is actively seeking to hire Adjunct faculty to instruct 100% online courses, specifically for the Nursing Program:

Undergraduate 300 and 400 Level Nursing Courses to be taught in the following areas:

  • Nursing Theory, Leadership & Management
  • Nursing Cultural Diversity
  • Community Based Nursing
  • Healthcare Communication
  • Clinical Informatics & Technology
  • Human Pathophysiology
  • Health Assessment
  • Nursing Research


Ottawa University (est. 1865), is one of the oldest private liberal arts universities in the United States and serves approximately 6000 students through its campuses in Kansas (main campus), Arizona, Wisconsin, Indiana (Louisville, KY area), and Online. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Earned Graduate Degree with minimum 15-18 graduate credit hours in the content area from a regionally and CCNE accredited institution.
  • Two years post graduate professional experience within the content area
  • Current active unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the United States in order to instruct the courses
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills with strong attention to details
Additional preferences:
  • Earned doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • National certification in a nursing specialty area highly desirable
  • Knowledge of current RN practice/trends in the clinical and community settings
  • Blackboard or equivalent online Learning Management System (LMS) experience
  • Online teaching or learning experience
  • Teaching experience within the content area

NOTE:  Qualified applicants will be required to complete a 3-phase certification process that is considered a rewarding and enjoyable professional development experience, designed specifically for orientation and training of faculty interested in teach online.
