Responsible for providing leadership to the School and its students, faculty and related community constituencies. Senior administrator of the School providing leadership for all related academic programs, instruction activity, academic-related policy/procedures, scholarly endeavors, community engagement, and fund development initiatives (fund development in cooperation with the Advancement department). The Dean will develop a strategic vision and plan for the School consistent with the University’s Vision 2020 and strategic plan as well as (1) define standards of excellence for the School, (2) lead program/curriculum assessment, development and growth initiatives, (3) advocate scholarship and intellectual engagement, (4) foster and support university initiatives, (5) explore and facilitate opportunities in related personnel development, (6) build an exceptional faculty, (7) ensure that needs of students, staff and faculty are met, (8) support student and faculty recruitment and retention, and (9) manage the financial, intellectual and material resources of the School as designated.
Responsible for leadership of Arizona Education Program initiatives including program development, implementation, and assessment in accordance with Arizona State Department of Education (ADE) requirements as well as any applicable national accrediting bodies; requires working knowledge of standards for National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), as well as other applicable standards. Responsible for building and serving as a community liaison by proving positive representation and relationships on behalf of the University with school districts in Arizona. Participates as a member of the University’s School of Education and may teach as assigned within the school.

Responsible for coordination and oversight of the Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) concentration for students in the Masters in Professional Counseling (MAPC) and the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS) program.
Responsible for data analysis and reporting (development and distribution) in support of the University’s business processes. Serve as the lead for Cognos design, documentation, testing, information support and training priorities. Collaborates with system users, across the University, to develop a Business Intelligence (BI) infrastructure that supports institutional decision making.
