Kansas City Teacher Licensure Greater Kansas City Campus
For those with a baccalaureate or advanced degree from an accredited university, Ottawa University offers a teacher licensure program. Kansas licensure requires the following:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited institution
- Successful completion of approved program of courses with cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Passing score on the Principles of Teaching and Learning Test and submission of scores from content test
- Successful completion of an approved program
- Recommendation from licensure officer
The Teacher Licensure Program provides the necessary training, coursework and expertise needed to acquire a teaching license in elementary education (K-6).
Admission Procedures
- Send a letter to the Teacher Education Office at Ottawa University - Greater Kansas City describing background and interest in teaching.
- Send transcripts of prior college work (unofficial or official). The evaluation will identify the courses remaining to be completed for licensure.
- Applicant invited for interview after the transcripts are evaluated.
- An Ottawa University application must be completed and returned, with appropriate fee, to Ottawa University - Kansas.
