alex.shaw@ottawa.edu | Coach Alexandra Shaw is in her first year as the Spirit Coordinator at Ottawa University. She serves at the Head Cheer & Dance Team coach as well as the Loud Crowd Advisor and Mascot Organizer.
Her cheer experience started in junior high and continued through high school as she competed in both dance and cheer/stunt competitions with both all-girl and male-included squads. Her dance career started at 3 years old and found her teaching classes by age 14. After graduating from Carson-Newman College she owned and served as the Artistic Director the Trinity Performing Arts Center.
There she taught as many as 16 classes per week including dance in various styles, beginning gymnastics and Theatre. She has choreographed for many organizations including studios, colleges, and community theatres. She is very excited about the passion and potential she has found in the students at O.U. She looks forward to growing an amazing and successfully competitive program over the next several years |
