Coach Shaw is in his first season as head coach of the Ottawa University Lady Braves Soccer program. Before coming to OU, Shaw spent the past year as head assistant coach of the men's soccer program at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and as head coach of the women's soccer program at Assumption High School in Davenport, Iowa.

Coach Shaw helped lead St. Ambrose University (SAU) to its best finish in school history in 2005 when the Fighting Bees finished second in conference, were Conference Cup Finalist and regional semifinalists. In 2006 he helped SAU to the regional quarterfinals, the finals of the Conference Cup and a third place finish in conference.

Coach Shaw also was the head women's soccer coach at Assumption High School, a 1A school in Iowa that competes in the Mississippi Athletic Conference (MAC). Assumption is the only 1A School that participates in the MAC. He led the Knights to the Catholic Cup, a fifth place finish in conference, a regional final and a finish with a 10-6 record. He has also coached youth teams and coached the U-15 Girls Quad City Strikers, U-15 Boys Moline United and U-17 Girls Moline United. Shaw has played for over 20 years and has coached for nine more while obtaining his Australian Senior Level Coaching Certificate.

He graduated from NCAA Division II Carson-Newman College in 2004 and started for the ninth ranked team out of Tennessee. During his time there he helped CNC to two conference titles, led them to two conference cup finals, helped them appear twice in the national tournament and helped his team earn a number one ranking in the polls during his senior season. At Carson-Newman he earned a double major, a bachelor of science in accounting and business management with a marketing emphasis. He also has his masters in business administration from St. Ambrose University.



ASSISTANT COACH - Brett Parker

Coach Parker begins his first season as an assistant coach in the soccer program at Ottawa University. He comes to OU after spending one season as an assistant coach at Carroll College in Montana.

While at Carroll, Coach Parker helped lead the women's program to a final regular season NAIA ranking of No. 12 and the schools first ever berth into the national tournament with an overall record of 13-6-1. A former Brave, Coach Parker was a two year captain and helped lead the 2005 Braves to the KCAC Tournament Championship and to a NAIA region tournament. He was selected as 2005 KCAC Defender of the Year, First Team All-KCAC, First Team All-Region and received Honorable Mention All-American honors. It was OU's first All-American selection since 1971.

Before coming to OU as a player, Coach Parker was part of the 2001 NSCAA Junior College National Championship team at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, Calif.

Parker is a 2006 graduate of Ottawa University and received a bachelor of arts in biology. He will start his M.B.A. in the fall of 2007 at Ottawa. He will also have his NSCAA National Diploma in June.

Coach Quarando begins her first season as an assistant coach for the women's soccer program at Ottawa University. She comes to OU coaching staff after having a very successful playing career at Ottawa University and St. Louis Community College of Florissant Valley.

Coach "Q" played two seasons at St. Louis Community College of Florissant Valley. She earned Honorable-Mention All-Region honors in 2003 as a defender. She then transferred to Ottawa University in 2005 and earned Second-Team All-KCAC honors as a defender. Coach "Q" switched positions from defender to midfielder her senior season and earned Honorable Mention All-KCAC honors in 2006. She was voted Co-MVP by teammates during her senior season at OU.
