Ottawa University’s Individualized Major provides curriculum that is focused on specific topic areas of interest expressed by individual students. This specialized major provides a course of study within various Focus Areas that may include courses and learning experiences from more than one subject or from more that one discipline. Each Focus Area within the Individualized Major will prepare students for a professional career, advanced graduate studies and/or personal fulfillment. The Focus Area in the Liberal Arts prepares students with a foundation in critical thinking skills and long-term value for intellectual and ethical interrogation. Students will develop not only a breadth of knowledge, but also integrate that knowledge, to see how knowledge and questions from across disciplines can enrich student understanding within two optional tracks focused on the Arts and Sciences and/or Business (students must select one). This focus is especially applicable for students transferring a broad range of courses to Ottawa and for students who wish to heighten their skills in preparation for professional entrance exams, such as the LSAT and GRE.
