All That Jazz

The Spring Band Concert and Spring Jazz Concerts both took place in April in the Fredrikson Chapel. The Ottawa University Band is a wind and percussion ensemble that consists of music majors, non-music majors and community members. The concert featured music by John Philip Sousa, James Curnow, Frank Ticheli, Clare Grundman, and various selections from “West Side Story.” The band is directed by Music Department Chair Dr. Roger Kugler. As part of the Spring Jazz Concert, the University Jazz Singers paid tribute to Michael Jackson. The University Jazz Ensemble also performed arrangements by Bill Potts, Hank Levey, Sammy Nestico, and Bob Curnow.
