Building A Future

Not only did OU have many student, staff and faculty volunteers who helped with the build, but OU also provided lodging for the builders, provided an interview recording room on campus, hosted the VIP tent throughout the week, and gathered a number of track and field student athletes to assist in a video shoot on the Boucek track as part of Makale’s room theme. Perhaps OU’s most important contribution to the project was a gift to build Allen and his family’s future. Ottawa University presented Makale, Dreyson and Allen with full-tuition scholarships. Allen began his individualized IT major courses in January - accompanied by Frankie, of course. When Allen has finished his degree at OU, he hopes to handle all of the technology functions of Silent Siren and assist Gina in her other advocacy efforts. “Wherever she goes – wherever she takes this thing – I’m with her,” said Allen. “I will do everything and anything to help her. And I really feel I’m going to get what I need from OU to help my wife stay the course in her efforts.”
