The senior class recorded 37 wins during their reign at OU, making it the most wins in a four-year period by any senior class in the program’s history. The Braves finished the regular season ranked No. 10, clinching the second KCAC Championship for the Braves in three years and the third straight trip to the NAIA Championship Series. The Braves lost in the first round of play against Azusa Pacific. Leading the Braves to this unprecedented success is Head Coach Kent Kessinger, who was named Co-KCAC Coach of the Year. Josh Homolka was also named KCAC Assistant Coach of the Year. Other honors for the team included linebacker Matt Gross and defensive back Logan Schultz being named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team and Nate Bruto and Shane Gimzo being named KCAC Players of the Week twice each. Senior Clarence Anderson also became the first Ottawa Braves football player to be named AFCA NAIA All-American receiver two seasons in a row. Anderson had 16 National Football Leagues team scouts visit campus during the season for possible recruitment. Overall, 18 OU Braves were named to the All-KCAC teams.
