We've Got Your BAC

Courtney Harris, who is involved with cross country and track and field, is president of the organization. “The main idea is to increase the number of students who support each other in athletics and overall,” Harris said. “It’s to help make OU feel more like a family that backs up each other.” The BAC is comprised of athletes from each Ottawa University athletic team. They meet regularly and organize events, like halftime contests and drives. Last year, BAC hosted a donation drive that benefited the Prairie Paws Animal Shelter. They also started a year-long competition between each athletic team to see who can get the most points by attending home events. As of February 1, the women’s soccer team was in the lead with 245.5 points. “I would really like to see our campus come together as a whole,” said Harris. “This year I have seen the most support from teams, especially compared to the last three years I have been here.” The group’s motto is “we’ve got your BAC,” and Harris said she thinks it’s fitting. “The more support that we have from other teams, the more we’ve got each others’ “BAC,” the more it helps our athletics as a whole,” she said. “We want everyone to come support Ottawa athletics.”
