Projects undertaken included  assisting at the records center for the Franklin County Historical Society; helping with yard work at the police and fire stations; and playing with animals at the Prairie Paws animal shelter. The women's soccer team played with kids during recess at the elementary schools, and some of the OU Theatre students worked on staging and props for the upcoming production of Cinderella, which begin starts Oct. 31. #ottawautheatre #cinderella 2013 faculty symposium03The Fall Break also served as an opportunity for OU faculty from all three of the University's schools to come together for a time of professional development. Faculty presentations included such topics as "Kill Miss Dean! Exorcising the Ghosts of Teachers Past," "ACKT: Andragogy Content Knowledge Technology," "Developing Intercultural Understanding through Online Study Abroad," "Clawback Credit: Enhancing Learning Post-Examination," "The 5E Approach to Science Education," and "ePortfolios." A HLC Accreditation overview by President and CEO of the Higher Learning Commission Andy Lootens-White was a highlight of the symposium. 2013 faculty symposium10 2013 faculty symposium18 2013_ServiceDay_0443 2013_ServiceDay_0450 2013_ServiceDay_0463
