Job Fair

Posted by cservaes on September 19, 2011 in "Academic Programs", Alumni, "Current Students", Faculty/Staff, "The College" It’s challenging to find a job right now. But two Ottawa University students managed to do just that – with the same company. Recent graduates Courtney McMahon and Emily Fuerst both put their resumes and interview skills to the test during an On Campus Interview Day at The College. After the interview day, both McMahon and Fuerst had jobs with State Street, a global financial service provider. Susan Webb, director of career services and student employment, said large companies, like State Street, often contact the University asking about prospective employees. “Interview days and career fairs serve as an opportunity for students to practice interviews and meet with potential employers,” said Webb. “Nori Hale (former director of corporate relations and current director of alumni programs) helped me perfect my resume and prepared me to the point where I had five interviews in a month and two job offers by the end of the school year,” Fuerst said.
