The Individualized Major is an exciting opportunity for new students entering Ottawa University. The Individualized Major incorporates Ottawa University’s insistence on quality in design and offerings, individual educational planning, instruction by full-time and adjunct faculty, an interdisciplinary approach, and emphasis on continuous self-education.

Curriculum

Liberal Arts Studies Seminars

  • LAS 12525 First Year Seminar
  • LAS 42515 Group Problem Solving

Plus one course in each of the following Breadth Areas:

  • Creative and Performing Arts
  • Historical and Cultural Perspectives
  • Social and Behavioral Sciences
  • Mathematical and Logical Systems
  • Natural Sciences (with lab)
  • Language and Communication
  • Health and Wellness
  • Theological and Philosophical Perspectives
The curriculum within an Individualized Major is focused on a specific topic of special interest (Focus Area), while incorporating broad elective opportunities and experiences. These uniquely designed programs of study may include courses and learning experiences from more than one Focus Area or from more than one discipline.
