Brian joined the Ottawa University family in July 2009. He enjoys partnering with high school counselors and teachers and delivering classroom presentations. Brian works closely with students and families to ensure they explore all options as they contemplate an Ottawa University education. This is a perfect blend of his strengths and passions as is evidenced in his previous work in the area of youth ministry. On campus, Brian can often be found outdoors, “taking in” the intimate campus setting and admiring the architecture while talking with current students, staff, and faculty.
In his free time, Brian coaches soccer, plays guitar, enjoys the outdoors, and watching football. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Youth Ministry and Psychology from Southwest Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Management from the University of Phoenix.
Brian encourages new students to, “Stick around, don’t go home every weekend. Get involved and try different clubs and organizations on campus so you can get to know as many new friends as possible.”
Brian works with students in western Missouri including the Kansas City Metro area (Missouri side.) He resides in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, with his wife Laurie, and their three daughters, Emma, Hannah, and Maggie.
