Kerry returns (July 2011) to Ottawa University as an enrollment advisor after spending the last three years at Maple Woods Community College (MWCC) as the head softball coach. Prior to MWCC, she had served as the assistant softball coach the Ottawa University Lady Braves. Kerry received a Master of Science degree in Sport Studies from Bemidji State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Management from the University of Minnesota-Crookston. She enjoys working with potential students and their families, getting to know them, and helping them through their college decision making process.
Outside of admissions, you will most likely find Kerry enjoying some sort of sporting event or watching it on TV! In her spare time she also likes to work out; compete in half marathons, 5K’s, and 10K’s; complete Sudoku puzzles, and spend time with friends and family.
When advising new students, her advice is to “familiarize yourself with clubs and groups of your interests and get involved. Keep in close contact with those who share the same values, they will most likely be your best friends! The best thing you can do in college is to engage yourself in as many activities that you can, there are so many opportunities at Ottawa University in many different areas, so jump in and begin your well-rounded life of significance!”
Kerry works with students in various high schools in the Kansas City area as well as a portion of southeast Kansas, west Texas, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio. She is married to Bob Casper, Head Men’s Soccer Coach at Ottawa University, and they reside in Lenexa, KS.
