The Ottawa University Orchestra performs the great works for symphonic and chamber orchestra, with a diverse repertoire that ranges from Baroque to Contemporary. Using the most scholarly editions available to create a fresh approach to the standard repertoire, the members of the ensemble include OU students and faculty, music students from area colleges, and teachers from the Ottawa Suzuki Strings Institute. Highlights of the concert year include an annual Baroque program, collaborations with students from the Suzuki program, and the yearly Christmas Vespers concert. Distinguished musicians from the area are invited to perform as soloists, thus providing Ottawa students with a unique musical experience. Membership is open by audition.
