Jeremy Wohletz received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Baker University (2005), where he was named music performer of the year 2002-03 and 2003-04. He was also appointed principal clarinet in the 2004 Kansas Intercollegiate Band, performed with the National Wind Ensemble at Carnegie Hall in New York, and performed in the Small Intercollegiate Band at the Lincoln Center in New York. Wohletz received a Master of Music from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale (2007), where he won the 2007 Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition and served as principal clarinetist in both the orchestra and wind ensemble. While pursuing his doctorate degree, he was the recipient of several grants that allowed him to travel to Bali, Indonesia where he studied Balinese gamelan firsthand from a gamelan master.

Wohletz currently enjoys a diverse musical life as both an educator and performer. He serves as woodwind instructor at Ottawa University and also has a private studio of roughly 35 students in the Kansas City Area. Last spring, Wohletz served as sabbatical replacement for his former teacher where he taught theory, orchestral arranging, directed jazz band, and of course taught woodwind lessons. He has been asked several times to be a guest lecturer for such topics as extended techniques for the clarinet and Balinese gamelan. Wohletz was also asked to present at the 2013 Kansas Music Educator Association convention.

As a performer, Wohletz is a large advocate for new music, both performing and commissioning new compositions. One of these commissions was recently premiered at the 2012 International Clarinet Association convention, by his guitar and clarinet duo, Pararo. Formed in 2011, Pararo, regularly performs many of their own arrangements throughout the Midwest. As a solo recitalist, Wohletz has presented performances and masterclasses, including a guest artist at Central College in IA, Iowa Clarinet Day, and many high schools and colleges within the state of Kansas. His teachers include Dr. J.D. Parr, Dr. Eric Mandat, and Dr. Stephanie Zelnick.
