OU-Wisconsin Students Honor the Memory of Stella O'Neil

Stella posterStudents enrolled in Organizational Communication took on the challenge of turning their class into an organization. The class project, designed to allow students the opportunity to actively apply course material in a real life scenario, worked to raise money to donate to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in honor of Stella O'Neil.

On February 29, 2008 Vanessa O'Neil, a long-time member of the adjunct faculty at OU-Wisconsin, lost her one year old daughter, Stella, to cancer. During her six-week hospital stay, Stella and her family received exceptional care and support from the staff. Thanks to the generosity of students, faculty and staff, the class was able to present Children's Hospital of Wisconsin with a check for $280.51. In addition to the knowledge gained from this hands-on experience, students also felt a great sense of pride knowing they were able to honor the memory of such a precious child.
