Ottawa University Theatre Presents "Cinderella"

Ottawa University Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” on October 31, November 1, 2 and 3 in the Larry D. Peters Auditorium located in the Administration Building on the OU campus, 1001 S. Cedar Street, Ottawa. Show times are at 7:00 p.m. on October 31, November 1, and 2, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on November 3. General admission is $12; $6 for students  and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the box office, 785-248-2460, or at the door.

Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” follows the classic tale of a young girl whose stepfamily treats her poorly, but whose fairy Godmother works magic for her to attend a ball where she meets her Prince Charming.  The musical is full of enchantment and fun, with zany stepsisters, romantic music and a happy ending.  The show has a large cast of students, community members and children.

Director Julie Noonan says, “’Cinderella’ is a wonderful challenge for our cast.  Rogers and Hammerstein are musical masters, and I’m so excited that we can learn from them.  I’m also excited to have community members and students working together to keep theatre vibrant in Ottawa.”

Special events are planned with each performance to enhance the theatre experience, especially for children.
