Celebrating 30 Years of Service to Arizona Teachers
Ottawa University Hosts First Annual Education Summit
PHOENIX, Arizona - Stephen Covey, author, family expert, teacher, and organizational consultant of FranklinCovey®, said, "The call and need of a new era is for greatness. It is for fulfillment, passionate execution and significant contribution." Doesn't this describe the passion of Arizona's teachers and schools? They make a significant contribution on a daily basis, and Ottawa University is here to help them do so.
Ottawa University is celebrating 30 years of service to education in Arizona, preparing teachers for Arizona classrooms and professional development opportunities. On Wednesday, February 21, 2007 from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m., Ottawa University's Phoenix campus will host its first annual Education Summit, a complimentary and
open-to-the-public celebration of Ottawa University's contributions to teachers and teacher's contributions to the Valley's schools.
Tony LaMantia, principal of Porter Elementary School and nationally trained facilitator of "The ‘New' 8th Habit: Finding Your Voice and Helping Others Find Their Voice: Moving from ‘Good to Great,'" will discuss Stephen Covey's "The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness," and how schools can use this for their own effectiveness. Professional development credit for two semester credit hours will be awarded to those who attend the event.
Ottawa University's Phoenix campus is located at 10020 North 25th Avenue, on the east side of I-17 between Dunlap and Peoria Avenues. Please contact Jo Ellen Katsuki at 602-749-5159 or at joellen.katsuki@ottawa.edu for more information or to RSVP for the event. A complimentary breakfast will be served.
