Ottawa University Announces 142nd Commencement Ceremonies
OTTAWA, Kansas - Ottawa University will hold its 142nd Anniversary Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the University Chapel, 1001 S. Cedar Street, Ottawa, Kansas. The ceremonies are free and open to the public.
Molly T. Marshall, president of Central Baptist Theological Seminary, will give the ceremonies' commencement address, "Locating the Heart." Romanze from Concerto No. 3 in B-flat by Stamitz will be performed by Senior Christina L. Spencer on the clarinet, after which Lisa K. Wellman ('99) will present the Alumni Association welcome. Academic Honors will then be conferred by Vice President and Provost Dennis Tyner. Following a charge to the graduates by OU President Dr. Fred Snow, 83 degree candidates will be presented and awarded their diplomas.
A reception on the lawn of the Administration Building will follow at 3:30 for graduates, parents, faculty, staff and alumni (weather permitting).
