OU Open House for New Interim President
Dr. Fred Zook to meet Ottawa University community
OTTAWA, Kansas - Ottawa University will host an open house on Wednesday, August 15, to welcome Dr. Fred Zook, the new Interim President, and his wife, Connie. The event will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Granger House, located at 320 East 11th Street. Members of the community and friends of Ottawa University are invited to attend.

Dr. Zook began his career at Ottawa University in 1967 at The College in Ottawa, Kansas, as the dean of students and later became a tenured faculty member. While living in Ottawa, he was a member of the City Council for over seven years, including two terms as mayor.
From 1981 to 2001, Dr. Zook held the position of provost at OU's Arizona campuses. His tenure as provost was one of the most successful in the history of the University. Dr. Zook brought visibility to OU through his marketing expertise and community involvement. He developed and mentored a strong faculty and launched the University's first graduate program, the Master of Arts in Human Resources.
