OU Fall Family Weekend Welcomes Parents

Something for everyone!

OTTAWA, Kansas - Ottawa University will be hosting its annual Fall Family Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30, 2007. The weekend is an opportunity for parents, grandparents, siblings and other family members of OU students to visit the campus and experience a slice of university life. 

Family members are encouraged to register for the weekend on Saturday morning between 9:30 a.m. and noon in the Mowbray Union lobby. Upon registration, they will receive complimentary tickets to Saturday's football and soccer games. At that time they can also purchase tickets to the Braves barbeque ($5 for adults, $3 for children 10 and under) and the theatre production ($10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under) and receive a coupon to the Ottawa University Bookstore, which will be open on Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.    

Saturday activities scheduled during Fall Family Weekend include:

•·        9:30 a.m -1:00 p.m.:  Self-guided tours of campus

•·        10:00 a.m.:  Lady Braves Softball Scrimmage, Alumni Park

•·        11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.:  Braves Barbeque, Mowbray Union Cafeteria ($5 for adults, $3 for children 10 and under)

•·        1:30 p.m.:  Braves Football vs. SW Assemblies of God, Peoples Bank Field

•·        5:30 p.m.: Women's Soccer vs. McPherson, Peoples Bank Field

•·        7:30 p.m.:  Men's Soccer vs. McPherson, Peoples Bank Field

•·        8:00 p.m.:  OUTheatre Production of "Little Shop of Horrors," Larry Peters Auditorium ($10 for adults, $5 for children 10 and under)

Sunday's scheduled activities include:

•·        11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.:  Brunch, Mowbray Union Cafeteria.  ($8 for adults, $6 for children 10 and under

•·        2:00 p.m.:  OUTheatre Production of "Little Shop of Horrors," Larry Peters Auditorium

Throughout the weekend, family members will have the opportunity to mingle with various Ottawa University faculty and staff who will be on campus for the activities.
