Ottawa University Presents Christmas Vespers
OTTAWA, Kansas - Ottawa University will once again spread holiday cheer through its annual Christmas Vespers concert on Sunday, December 2, at 4:00 p.m. in the University Chapel, 1001 S. Cedar, Ottawa. Free and open to the public, the concert is the only opportunity presented during the year to hear OU's orchestra, choral groups and bell ringers in the same venue.
Composers to be featured during the service include Leroy Anderson, Johann Strauss, Sr., Healey Willan, PDQ Bach, and 19th century opera composer Englebert Humperdinck, among others. Works to be heard include "Carol of the Bells," "Sleigh Ride," "Evening Song" from the opera Hansel and Gretel, and a variety of traditional carols.
The OU Orchestra will be directed by Steven McDonald; the OU Choir and Adelante Singers will be directed by Annette Oh; and the OU Bell Ringers will be directed by Blakely Bunning.
