2005 KCAC REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONS!!!

OU LADY BRAVES SOCCER

The OU women entered the Kansas Wesleyan match-up on a 9 game winning streak and it continued as the Lady Braves knocked off Lady Coyotes 3-1. This was the Lady Coyotes 2 loss of the season and first loss in conference. Both teams entered the game undefeated in the KCAC.

Freshman Sarah Poncher got things started for the Lady Braves as she scored on a pass from 2 nd Team All-KCAC selection senior Rebecca Germain. KWU answered back and the teams entered half time all tied up at 1. In the second half the Lady Braves kept the pressure up as they had 13 shots on goal. Germain and 1 st Team All-KCAC and Offensive Player-of-the-Year senior Erica DeSantiago both scored goals in the second half. DeSantiago got the assist on the Germain shot and 2 nd Team All-KCAC Defender Anni Quarando had a nice assist to DeSantiago as she scored the third and final point to wrap of the game on a header.

Honorable Mention All-KCAC goalkeeper sophomore Stephanie Henderson played all 90 minutes and had 3 saves on 4 shots on goal.

This is the fourth regular season conference title for the Lady Braves in five seasons (2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005). The Lady Braves also won the conference tournament in 2002, 2003 and 2004.
