Ottawa University is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen Moore as campus executive of its Kansas City campus
. She succeeds Brian Messer, who has been promoted to Vice President of Adult, Professional and Online Studies, joining Dr. Brian Sandusky in that capacity. Moore brings to OU more than two decades of experience in public and private higher education. Most recently, Moore served as the campus college chair for the University of Phoenix in Kansas City, where she managed more than 100 faculty members on five campus locations. Moore was on the faculty of the University of Phoenix between 2003 and 2010 and served as an adjunct instructor at Blue River Community College in Independence, Missouri, from 2003 to 2005. Moore has also worked for Denver-based Power4Learning and Regis University. “I am thrilled to be joining the Ottawa family,” said Moore. “I admire OU’s faculty, educational excellence and especially OU’s student-centered approach to teaching and learning. I believe OU’s pattern of helping students integrate faith, learning and life is very attractive to people looking for a quality university experience. It is a privilege to be part of the Ottawa University team!” Holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Colorado State University, Moore also earned a graduate diploma from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in management and organizational leadership. “We are very pleased to have Kristen leading our efforts in Kansas City,” said OU President Kevin C. Eichner. “Ottawa University was a pioneer in adult higher education in Kansas City with its first ‘College without Campus’ started there in 1974. Kristen will carry on this rich tradition of meeting the needs of adult learners with OU’s special array of courses and support services designed specifically for their needs.”
