Lady Braves basketball forward Paige Gibson served as a Career Athletes on-campus intern at Ottawa University for the spring 2011 semester. Gibson was one of 35 Career Athletes interns from across the country at NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA institutions. The overall goal of the internship is to help grow and promote the Ottawa Career Athlete Network to current and alumni student-athletes. In addition, Gibson helped increase activity of Ottawa Career Athletes’ members, gained experience in professional presentation skills and learned the importance of professional networking. Gibson is majoring in business administration and communications. Her creative background and marketing interest helped distinguish her above the others to be selected into the spring 2011 class of interns at Career Athletes. Career Athletes is the nation’s oldest and largest online network linking together current and former student-athletes, athletic departments and business organizations. Members across the country are able to connect with more than 80,000 athletes and thousands of companies and recruiters to continue to build their professional network and search career opportunities.
