Births and Adoptions Robert and Paula Nauman ’77 Granddaughter Stella Jolynn Nauman Born May 2, 2011 Parents are Eric and Nicci Nauman. Great-grandparents are Stanley and Alice Jo DeFries ’51 Weddings Brian Taladay 93’ and Nadia Bykova April 15, 2011 Danae McCracken ’06 and Darren Rus June 25, 2011 In Memoriam Adaline G. Wood ’39 passed away August 31, 2010. Survivors include her daughters, Yvonne Wood, Janis Krug and Cheryl Coffman; son Steve Wood; grandchildren John and Jimmy Boos, Tony and Tim Sanchez, Matthew Chase, Kelly Chanay, and Kristopher Krug; great-grandchildren Cody Boos, Darryn Lee, Iszabella and Aytumn Sanchez, Anthony Sanchez, and Mason Chanay. Joe G. Baker ’42 passed away November 13, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Anna; children Dr. Jay Baker and Joanna Grogan; grandchildren Becky Dailey, Joshua Baker, Jennifer Hornick, and Matt Grogan; great grandchildren Lillian Dailey, Bryan Dailey, Jackson Dailey, Gage Hornick, Jayden Baker, and Cora Dailey. Vevea Viola (Miller) Stephenson ’48 passed away June 1, 2011. Survivors include two sons, James Stephenson and John Stephenson; a brother, Harold Miller; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Laurence A. Stephenson, Jr. ’73. Marjorie Stewart Sharp ’49 passed away on April 7, 2011. She is survived by her husband, Murray ’49; son Steven ’73; daughter Susan; and grandchildren Aaron, Kallianne, Matheson, Mireille, Nicole, and Zachary. The Rev. Wilbur E. Harbaugh ’50 passed away May 6, 2011. He is survived by his children Cynthia Breyfogle and David Harbaugh; their mother, Charlotte Harbaugh; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. William F. Culbertson ’56 passed away June 22, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter Barbara Lynch; grandsons Richard and Christopher; a brother, Byron; and a large extended family. His son, David, preceded him in death in 2000. Robert Lee ‘Doc’ Pinney ’71 passed away April 19, 2011. He is survived by his mother, Bertie Lou Nelson; a sister, Lori Day; two brothers, Curt Nelson and Douglas Nelson; four nieces, Amy Chank, Lindsey Nelson, Chelsea Day, and Haley Nelson; a nephew, John Day; two uncles, George Jordan and John Pinney; three aunts, Lenore McElhenie, June Bunnell and Mary Burkhead; stepsons Jack Tucker and Donald Tucker; grandchildren and special friends, Mark and Suzanne Denomme and Tom and Jeanette Ingels; and several cousins. Branko Pavlovic ’73 passed away April 14, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, and children Bryan, Brandon, Braymil, and Brydon. Laurence A. Stephenson, Jr. ’73 passed away November 5, 2010. He is survived by his three sons, Jonathan, Joshua and Timothy Stephenson; one daughter, Rebecca Stephenson; two brothers, John and James Stephenson; half brother William; and six grandchildren. Updates 40s Mary Esther (Kitt) Arehart ’45 recently completed a book about her son, David, who had influenza meningitis when he was 2 years old, which resulted in mental impairment. The book, “God’s Yard Light,” is a tribute to him. Arehart and her husband, Marvin, live in Holdrege, NE. 60s The Rev. Robert Tiller ’62 was elected to the board of Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America and is serving on the board of Churches for Middle East Peace. 90s Jeanette McWilliams ’90 is the program coordinator for the Massage Therapy Program at Pueblo Community College in Pueblo, Colorado. She graduated with a certificate in massage therapy in 2009. She is a practicing massage therapist and teacher. Amy J. Piersol ’93 was recently named the director of major gifts at Baker University, Baldwin City, Kansas. 00s Annette Reiley ’01 AZ received a Fulbright Teacher Exchange scholarship to teach English at a university in Mexico for the 2011-2012 school year. Katie Tooley ’01 had her OU football and women’s basketball media guide named Best in the NAIA in June. Yuta Kawarsaki ’07 KS recently returned home from Antarctica where he studied biology. He is a graduate student at Miami University in Ohio. 10s Justin Garrard ’10 captured 2nd in the 10K run at this year’s Sunflower State Games in Topeka, KS., in July. As the 2010 male athlete of the year, Garrard spoke at this year’s VIP banquet.
