As part of Ottawa University’s new partnership with Blackboard Inc., the Blackboard Center for Academic Innovation and Technology will be housed in the new Gangwish Library to be completed in the summer of 2015. Blackboard funds will be used to augment the University’s Curriculum Design Studio and enable academic collaboration between students, faculty and staff across all University sites and online. The Blackboard Center for Academic Innovation and Technology will strengthen the University’s online course production capabilities to satisfy student expectations for richer visual quality and more flexible content in their courseware. The Center will also be instrumental in springboarding Project Virtuoso forward by providing the latest technology for synchronous and asynchronous class interactions with faculty and fellow students (see page 11). It will also afford students the opportunity to utilize the technology for academic projects and facilitate their individual and corporate learning.
