Dr. Greg Moore Joins Business FacultyPosted by Paula Paine on September 10, 2014 in With almost 10 years’ experience as a financial analyst and planner, more than 17 years in the corporate investment industry, and several years in the classroom as a graduate and undergraduate adjunct professor, Assistant Professor of Finance Dr. Greg Moore brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Finance program at Ottawa University.
Moore began teaching full-time this fall on The College campus in Ottawa but also shares his expertise in courses on OU’s Overland Park, KS, campus and online. His current course lineup within the Angell Snyder School of Business is Financial Administration, Leadership, and Entrepreneurial Vision & Strategy.
“Dr. Moore is both a welcome and a long overdue addition to our faculty,” says Director of Business Programs and Assistant Professor of Business Tom Edwards. “Professors with the requisite number of graduate credits in Finance are hard to find. Those with both the graduate hours AND professional experience in finance are even more rare. But to find a professor who has the graduate requisite hours, the professional experience AND the ability to teach is nigh unto impossible. Greg has all three. We were blessed the day Dr. Moore agreed to join the Angell Snyder School of Business faculty.”
As an adjunct faculty member for OU over the past two years, Moore taught Foundations of Financial Management, Managerial Finance, Modern Financial Markets, and Financial Modeling Methodologies and temporarily served as the lead faculty for assessment and evaluation of technology courses within the business school.
Moore is familiar with the stringent requirements of a quality business program, having served as a consultant for business curriculum development at Wright Career College, where he developed and deployed dual modality (online and on-ground) courses for undergraduate studies in business law, personal finance, and marketing.
Moore’s expansive business career includes more than nine years of self-employment as a financial planner, three years as treasurer for dlo water, and almost 15years with American Century Investments. While at American Century, Moore served in a number of progressive roles, from investor services management, to programming, to information management, to software management systems architecture and administration.
Completing his dissertation in 2013, Moore holds a Doctorate of Business Administration in Finance from Walden University, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of Kansas Graduate School of Business, where he served on the applied portfolio management team for the business school endowment fund and performed stock analysis and research with a team of students.
Moore’s wife, Dr. Kristen Moore, is also an employee of Ottawa University as Dean of Overland Park Online and Associate Professor of Business. The couple has three children, Rachel (14), Ethan (12) and Brandon (10).
