Revitalized MBA - Tracking for SuccessPosted by Paula Paine on September 10, 2014 in business, "leadership development track", "leadership track", MBA, "school of business", "strategic innovation" OU has long had an MBA program and began offering that program on-ground at The College in 2009. In order to better equip leaders for success in today’s global business environment, the MBA has been restructured to incorporate the specific skills, competencies and dispositions required for innovative and growth-oriented management.
Two unique management tracks within the program now allow for the education of leaders who are at different levels in an organization with different levels of experience.
The Leadership Development track is designed for new and aspiring executives who are looking to develop advanced leadership skills to move them to the next level.
The Strategic Innovation track is geared toward the existing, more experienced executive who desires to further develop his or her strategic planning and analysis skills to help move their company forward.
The new track-based MBA is completed in a module format that progressively combines track-related courses with core degree courses. Students may also choose from five concentrations – Finance, Health Care Management, Human Resources, Marketing, and Leadership and Management - to complement their MBA. Through OU’s liberal-arts based curriculum, students graduate with competencies in ethical management and change management, as well as strong critical thinking and empirical skills.
“This MBA model provides managers and executives the ability to better tailor their educational experience to their career advancement goals and set them apart from the average MBA graduate,” says Interim Dean Dr. Marylou DeWald. “Combined with the innovative delivery options that OU offers, this program stands head and shoulders above our competition.”
