Raffle for Rose BrooksPosted by Paula Paine on January 14, 2015 in As part of the 40th Anniversary Celebration at Arrowhead Stadium on October 16, 2014, a raffle was held as a way to give back to the Kansas City community that Ottawa University has been fortunate to be a part of these past 40 years.
The funds raised went to the Rose Brooks Center, a domestic violence shelter that OU-Kansas City has worked with for several years. On Friday, November 21, 2014, Campus Director Chad Taldo and Facilities Coordinator Kim Bauer presented the Rose Brooks Center with a $650 check.
The Volunteer Coordinator for Rose Brooks, Joan Dougherty, accepted the check. “Joan was very excited and thankful, not only for the donation, but also for the years Rose Brooks and OU- Kansas City have worked together,” said Taldo. “She wanted to make sure that Kim and I passed her thankfulness and gratitude on to everyone who has contributed. So, a big ‘thank you,’ both for your raffle donations and your past service and giving. We look forward to continued contributions to the Center and its mission to end domestic violence.”
