Posted by on April 4, 2017 in Annually in February, the Kansas Independent College Association (KICA) hosts Student Day at the Capitol in Topeka, KS. This year, three students from Ottawa University represented the school at the State Capitol Building; seniors Ada Castro and Jacyn Dawes, and sophomore John Hawks. The students were able to visit the House Floor with local House Representative Blaine Finch and also met with Kansas Governor Sam Brownback.

Each year, the KICA reaches out to various student activities groups at each of its member colleges to invite them to participate in this day-long visit for training, networking and visiting legislators.
