2016-2017 Student Leadership ElectedPosted by Janae Melvin on August 9, 2016 in "Alex Kincaid", "Kaylee Asher", "Student Senate" When the 2016-17 academic year begins, so will the year of student leadership under new Student Body President Kaylee Asher and Student Body Vice President Alexander (Alex) Kincaid.
Asher, a senior from Lenexa, KS, is a double major in business economics and marketing. She’s a resident assistant, a member of the OU Dance Team and served as Student Body Vice President in 2015-2016. She decided to run for president so she could continue serving Ottawa University and her peers this year.
Kincaid, also a senior, is from Olathe, KS. He currently serves on the OU Student Alumni Board and is a member of the Braves baseball team. He was a student senator during the last academic year. He wanted to run for vice president because he wanted to have more of a voice in what gets done on campus and to give back to Ottawa what it has given to him.
Student Senate represents the students’ voice to the faculty and administration. Students elect their 13 senators annually as well as student body president and vice president. The Student Senate meets regularly to discuss and take action on issues facing Ottawa University students.
