WOCNCB was founded in 1978 and is a non-profit nursing organization with members located around the world. They focus on certifying nurses who are specialists in the field of wound, ostomy, continence and foot care. While certification in this specialty field is voluntary, the organization encourages continued professional growth and provides the standard of knowledge that is required for certification allowing these individuals to assist their employers, fellow health professionals and the public in identifying and caring for individuals with these health issues.
“I believe my ability to look toward the future and encourage visionary direction is a major piece of what I will bring to this incredible group of nurses,” said Kump.
Kump is one of two new board members that were elected by their nursing peers through an online ballot on the organization’s website.
