Mascots

Giego

Giego is a very prestigious figure and is a symbol that represents the actual spirit of the Ottawa Indian tribe. Giego shows up at many OU sporting events and ceremonies to insure good luck, safety, and fortune to all who gather.

Gibby, The Otter

OU adopted a "gameday" mascot to be used solely for sporting events and community appearances. The university selected the Otter, which is the Ottawa Indian Tribe's sacred animal. The addition of this gameday animal did not change our school name--rest assured we will always be the Braves! The Otter's job is to add some extra fun, life, and pizzazz to our sporting events. This furry woodland water creature's zesty personality and crazy antics brings smiles to the faces of all ages.
