“We are thrilled to welcome nearly 3,000 exceptional students to Ottawa University this fall,” said Kevin Eichner, president of Ottawa University. “For 153 years, our institution has been preparing individuals for lifetimes of significance and to see this many students, especially new ones, choose OU as the place they want to earn their degree from is a true testament to the high caliber and quality of academics and athletics we offer here. We are especially delighted with the response to our new residential campus model in Surprise.”
Classes began for all students on August 21. In Ottawa, the new undergraduate students arrived on campus last week for Braves Camp, an educational on-campus retreat and orientation designed to introduce them to life at OU. Activities during Braves Camp included the honor code ceremony, a trip to Worlds of Fun, a foam party, residence hall meetings, a campus safety seminar, and a community service project. Many similar activities were offered at the new Surprise site.
