Instructor Alma Arce, PhD has been teaching for Ottawa University since 2006. Dr. Arce (pronounced “RC”) earned her doctorate in Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Instruction at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Arce began her teaching career in the public education system and a few years later transitioned into higher education. As adjunct faculty for Ottawa, she teaches courses in education, sociology and psychology and has served on committees to enhance the curriculum design and syllabi for the professional education program. Dr. Arce enjoys working with the adult population since her dissertation focused on the academic motivation and degree attainment of the non-traditional student population.
Dr. Arce’s interests lie in animal welfare and volunteer work with several humanitarian organizations. In her free time, Dr. Arce loves to travel, spend time by the ocean, and read travel narratives.
