Delores Jackson served in clinical leadership roles in hospital specialty areas of Medical-Surgical; Surgical Intensive Care; and Obstetric-Newborn Units. She became a recognized leader for hospital research and data collection, team leadership and group dynamics, the implementation of new acute care delivery models, and, for leading hospitals through successful Joint Commission accreditations. Delores earned national level certification as a fetal monitor expert which lead to her role as Trainer for hundreds of nurses entering the specialty of Maternal-Child Nursing. Dr. Jackson provided Attorney consultations for nurse negligence cases in regard to potential nurse liabilities, and the nurses’ defense and deposition preparations. She was awarded the “Best Speaker Award” by the Calhoun County Leadership Conference for the Calhoun County Business Association of Anniston, AL while speaking on the physical and care delivery transformations of the Obstetric Units at a regional medical center, demonstrating effective administrative functions of nurse leader, patient advocate, quality of care expert, and MD-nurse relationships while adhering to sound business models for community sustainability. She modeled excellence as a member of the Alabama Organization of Nursing Leadership and served as Treasurer for three years. Dr. Delores Jackson received her PhD in Interdisciplinary Health Studies in 2010 with emphasis on Nursing Research, Education and Leadership.  She is serving Ottawa University as a MSN Nursing Program Adjunct Professor
