Karen Carr worked for 11 years in health care and human services, holding a variety of professional and management positions within government agencies, as well as private and publically held companies.
In January of 2000, Karen began her career in education by teaching management and information systems courses for the Maricopa Community College system in Phoenix, Arizona. At Grand Canyon University, she taught courses on a part time basis and also held a full time faculty position in the College of Business. Karen has been teaching online courses for Ottawa University since September 2008 and currently teaches Managing Cultural Diversity, Management and Behavior in Organizations. Teaching is her passion and she strives to make concepts meaningful and relevant to her diverse group of students.
In addition to teaching traditional and online courses, Karen has developed online course modules/lecture materials, mentored new online faculty, acted as a peer support reviewer, and served on Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and ACBSP Teaching Effectiveness Assessment committees in preparation for accreditation reviews.
