Mary Vorsten grew up in the Ozarks of southern Missouri. Her undergraduate degree is in biology. Between undergraduate and graduate school she lived and worked in the Spanish speaking community of Chicago. Her master’s degree is in counseling psychology and the focus of her degree in theology was family ministry. Mary has worked in the mental health and addictions treatment field for over thirty years. She has taught for Ottawa University since 1993 in the areas of human resources, human services, psychology and addiction studies. She integrates a spiritual focus in her teaching process to assist the student in defining the importance of their spiritual understandings as they prepare for their career. Mary has a private counseling practice in the Kansas City community.
