Instructor Morris, a son of an Army Veteran, was raised in Sierra Vista Arizona and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Norfolk State University in Virginia. While at Norfolk State, Michael was a NCAA National Champion in Track and Field during the 1991 season. After sports Michael began his career in education, where he has served as an elementary and middle school teacher for nearly 10 years in the Phoenix, metropolitan area.
In 2003 he obtained his Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. In 2007 he obtained a Masters in Guidance Counseling from Ottawa University, upon which he began serving as a Guidance Counselor in Phoenix, Arizona. During the past 10 years, Michael has worked as an adjunct instructor at several Community Colleges and Technical Colleges. His passion for education and community empowerment, led Michael to complete a Masters in Professional Writing from Northern Arizona University in 2017. Upon completion of his degree, Michael began working with Ottawa University as an English instructor. His love for working with students motivated him to continue coaching high school girls varsity basketball and a volunteer with high school track and field. Michael has a strong connection to his community and to his students. He possess the passion and dedication to help all students become successful.
