Dr. Veliota Drakopoulou has a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences from Walden University. She also earned an MBA from New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Veliota’s professional experience includes 15+ years in the financial reporting field as NYSE equities day-trader, financial reporting analyst consultant, and construction accountant. Her expertise incorporates fundamental & technical analysis, SEC Edgar filing system, FASB XBRL taxonomy, and FASB Accounting Standards Codification.
She is an editorial board member of the "Journal of Stock and Forex Trading" and the "Journal of Accounting and Finance Research", an External Reviewer and Member of the Corporate Governance Experts Global Repository of Virtus Interpress. Also, Veliota is a member of the American Accounting Association and the Financial Executives International (FERF). Veliota has published extensively in the areas of the effectiveness of fundamental & technical analysis on stock valuation, the corporate risk management strategies under SFAS 133, and the FVO of equity securities under SFAS 159.
