Larry G Larkin

Larkin earned letters in football (1955), men’s basketball (1952-56), and track (1953-56).

As a member of the OU football team in 1955, Larkin helped the Braves to a 3-6 record under head coach Paul J. Andree.

On the basketball court Larkin led OU to a four year record of 51-44, to two KCAC Championships, and an appearance in the KCAC NAIA Playoffs. He was named team captain as a senior.

Larkin led OU to two KCAC Championships on the track in 1953 and 1956. He earned All-KCAC honors in 1953 in the pole vault and in the 110 Yard High Hurdles. As a sophomore in 1954 Larkin earned the KCAC Individual Championship in the pole vault. He also earned All-KCAC honors in the 110 Yard High Hurdles and in the 220 Yard Low Hurdles. In 1955 and in 1956 Larkin earned All-KCAC honors in the 110 Yard High Hurdles.

After graduation he served as an Aviation Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and earned 12 air medals and the Distinguished Flying Cross as a helicopter pilot in 1968. Larkin has also worked as an airport executive.
