Mirela Borsan has been teaching online for Ottawa University and Grand Canyon University for the past four years, and Ottawa University is pleased that she recently assumed the role of Professor in Charge for the Public Safety Program. Professor Borsan has worked in the criminal justice field for over 20 years. She first served as a Juvenile Detention Officer and then as a Police Officer for both the City of Tempe and the City of Avondale. Mirela has worked various assignments, including: Criminal Investigations Bureau-Sex Crimes Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Property Crimes Sergeant, Persons Crimes Sergeant, Special Victim Unit Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, Detention Bureau Lieutenant and Communications Bureau Lieutenant. She holds a bachelor's degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and an MBA in Homeland Security from Northcentral University.
In her spare time, Mirela enjoys practicing yoga, working out, traveling, movies, music, home decor and a variety of outdoor activities. She is the author of two blogs--one that is faith-related and one which focuses on leadership and career planning. Mirela also serves as a leadership coach and assists individuals with job and promotional interviewing techniques, and states, "I love to see people succeed and I love to help them achieve their dreams".
Mirela resides in Arizona with her only "child"--a Bichon Frise.
