IMPORTANT! The student email experience is about to change!

On Tuesday, August 2nd, student email accounts will be moved from Google Mail to Microsoft Outlook. This change will have many benefits:

  1. All students, faculty, and staff will be in the same email address book, meaning everyone can look up the email addresses of anyone else.
  2. Students can store their work online and access it from any web browser using OneDrive (similar to Google Drive)
  3. Instant messaging with Teams. This takes the place of Pronto. Beginning with the FA22 term, Teams will be integrated into your courses in Blackboard as well. There will be a Teams Group for every course, which will make it easy for us to quickly message one another. (Please install the Teams app on your phone!)
  4. You can connect your Microsoft OneDrive account to your Blackboard account for easy uploading of assignments to Blackboard.

 

NOTE: If you already have a free Microsoft Office account that is connected to your OU student email address, the IT team (through OU Help) will work with you to retrieve any files you may need to keep. The files WILL NOT be automatically transferred to your new MS Office account.
