Head Women’s Soccer Coach Marc Gordon wins NSCAA and KCAC Coach of the Year Honors

Posted by Janae Melvin on April 4, 2017 in Ottawa University women’s soccer head coach Marc Gordon was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Plains Region Coach of the Year and the KCAC Coach of the Year after an impressive 2016 season.

This is Gordon’s first NSCAA Region Coach of the Year Award and the third time he’s been recognized by the conference for his efforts.

Gordon guided the Braves to an overall record of 19-3-1 and a 10-1-0 conference record, capturing their second straight KCAC Championship. The Braves won the KCAC Tournament and made it to the NAIA Final 16 for the first time in program history. In the last seven seasons, Gordon has amassed a record of 96-34-14, won three KCAC regular season championships, four KCAC Tournament Championships, and four NAIA National Tournament appearances. He is the winningest coach in OU women’s soccer program history.

The Braves finished the season ranked in the NAIA Women’s Soccer Coaches Top 25 for the second straight year, earning a ranking of #17.
