While gathering during Homecoming 2017, the Black Student Union Alumni Group pledged more than $10,000 to establish a fund for students to reactivate the Black Student Union student organization. Alumni from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s were on hand to create the support fund.

The BSU dates back to the 1970’s at OU and is one of the oldest student organizations.

“It is important that we have student organizations that highlight the many levels of diversity and culture present on the campus,” said Donald Anderson, multicultural programming coordinator at OU. “It also is a great opportunity for students to get experience in leadership roles while trying to promote positive change on campus.”
