OUAZ Women’s Soccer Qualify for NCCAA National Championship in Inaugural Season

Posted by Janae Melvin on April 26, 2018 in The Ottawa University Arizona women’s soccer team earned an at-large bid to the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championships during its first season of competition. The Spirit went 0-2 during the tournament, falling to Concordia University in Ann Arbor (MI.) 3-1 and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (TX) 3-0.

“For a first year team, I am extremely proud of the girls and the results that they have achieved this year, not only on the field but also in the classroom,” said head women’s soccer coach Skelly Kellar. “When we started, we had about five months to recruit this team and it has been amazing to watch them develop relationships and become closer as people and as teammates.”

The team finished the season 9-9-2 and received votes in the final NCCAA Top 10 Poll.
