OUAZ Senior Becomes First National Champion in Spirit History

Posted by Janae Melvin on August 6, 2018 in Senior Raiven Ellis certainly made a statement during OUAZ’s inaugural track & field season, becoming the first National Champion for the Spirit.

Ellis won the women’s triple jump with a mark of 12.41m (40’ 8.5”), earning the title, All-American honors and a personal record. Ellis came into the tournament ranked 2nd in the NCCAA rankings.

“This is one of the best feelings in the world,” said Ellis. “I trained and worked hard for so long and I can finally say that I am a National Champion. To PR at the end of the season and win the championship is a great way to wrap up my season.”
